Saturday afternoon will be a special day inside the Lilly Center at Oak Hill High School.
Prior to the boys basketball clash against Riverside at 2 p.m., Oak Hill will induct nine new members into the Collins/Oak Hill High School Red Devil Sports Hall of Fame.
■ Jeffery Alex Ashley graduated in 2007 and played football and basketball. Ashley was named all-state in football. ■ David Wayne Cantley ll was a 2004 graduate and played football and baseball. Cantley’s football honors included all-state, all-county and all-Coalfield Conference. ■ Amanda Lynn Coates played soccer and basketball for the Red Devils and graduated in 2003. Coates was named all-state in soccer. ■ Samantha Kerwood was also a standout soccer player for Oak Hill. Graduating in 2005, Kerwood earned all-state recognition. ■ Christopher Adam Nelson graduated in 2000 and starred in football, basketball and track. Nelson was named 1st-team all-state, all-county and all-Coalfield Conference in football. ■ Christopher Lawson graduated in 2009 and was also a standout in football, basketball, and track. Lawson earned first-team all state in basketball as a senior after being named to the second-team his junior season. Lawson was named all-county in football all four seasons and was named to the North-South football and basketball teams. ■ Tyler Ryan Nunn was a 2005 Oak Hill graduate and played both football and baseball while at Oak Hill. Nunn was named first-team all-state in baseball. ■ Brittney Nichole Thomas graduated in 2009 and was a basketball and track standout. Thomas was a two-time state champion in the discus throw and helped lead Oak Hill to the 2009 Class AA girls state track championship. ■ Keith Shelton played basketball for the Red Devils and graduated in 1989. Shelton earned second-team all-state honors and played on the 1989 state champion basketball team. The 2022 Collins/Oak Hill High School Red Devil Sports Hall of Fame class will be inducted during the coming football season.
