LOGAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A two-vehicle accident Monday has resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries.
According to reports from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 6:15 pm, members of the department were informed by Logan County 911 of an accident involving two vehicles on WV Route 10 near the Hanging Rock Highway exit where construction was underway.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies observed heavy entrapment affecting two vehicles which had apparently been involved in a head-on collision.
An investigation into the incident revealed that one of the vehicles had turned south into the incorrect lane onto WV Route 10.
The vehicle in question was found to have traveled northbound in southbound lanes for approximately a quarter of a mile when it came into contact with the second vehicle, colliding head-on.
EMS was on-scene and transported all involved in the accident to Logan Regional Medical Center for analysis, and all requiring treatment were airlifted to CAMC General Division.
The vehicle traveling northbound in southbound lanes is reported to have been operated by Jennifer Rollins or Claremont, NC. Rollins was later airlifted to CAMC General to receive treatment.
The passenger in this vehicle, Deloris Daniels, 71 of Cyclone, WV, was fatally injured in the accident.
The second vehicle involved was operated by a male juvenile from the Holden area, and also housed a female passenger. Both individuals were injured in the incident and were airlifted to CAMC General to receive medical attention.
An investigation into the incident by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department is currently ongoing.
