FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen has announced a narcotics-related arrest following a trespassing complaint in the Valley area of the county.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded on March 23, 2026, to a residence in Powellton after a report of an individual passed out inside a running vehicle parked in a driveway.
The caller also indicated the individual might be armed.
Deputies located the man unconscious in the vehicle with his foot on the gas pedal. While attempting to wake him, deputies observed brass knuckles positioned between the driver’s feet.
An officer safety check was conducted, during which a loaded firearm was found on the man.
Authorities said a records check determined he was prohibited from possessing a firearm.
A subsequent search revealed 8.12 grams of suspected fentanyl, 3.17 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 9.95 grams of marijuana, $3,511 in cash, and a set of digital scales.
The individual, identified as 45-year-old John S. Lowe Jr., was taken into custody.
He is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a Schedule I or II narcotic, one count of possession with intent to deliver a Schedule I, II, or III narcotic, and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
