Op-ed: 2020: A year and country lost

Lootpress News Staff by Lootpress News Staff
Tuesday, February 23, 2021 2:11 pm

The year 2020 will be a year that none of us will ever forget.  It has brought events and circumstances which are strange, new, and scary.  I was born in 1984 and grew up in the stand-alone superpower in the world. Throughout my early life it seemed that freedom and liberty were not only alive and well in America, but we were exporting it around the globe.  Freedom was winning and tyranny was losing on every continent.  There were certainly cases where young democracies failed, but overall freedom was being embraced in places where the ideas of human rights and individual liberties were not just new but ran directly against political and social norms that spanned generations.

Soviet Russia collapsed as did the spread of communism across the world and as a result the United States was seen as the defender of the Free World and of Western Civilization.  America was poised to control her destiny and continue being the beacon of light for the rest of the world.

Over the past 36 years on this planet I have watched something that if I had not witnessed it myself I would most likely not believe that it was possible.  I witnessed the most powerful and free nation in the history of civilization intentionally destroy itself from within. I do not mean to suggest that the American people intentionally destroyed their own country, instead the most powerful and influential people and the institutions they control have purposefully, intentionally, and successfully destroyed the country they were entrusted to protect.

The radical left used to make up a small fraction of our political system and our society as a whole, but over the past four decades they have infiltrated every major institution of power and influence in America.  You can say many things about progressives and communists, but you can never say that they are not cunning and focused.  It was obvious to them that Americans would never fully embrace communism or socialism because those ideologies run directly against everything that our nation was built upon and for which it stood.  They quietly infiltrated academia, the news media, the music industry, Hollywood, the democratic party, and anywhere else where power and influence could be used to further their agenda.

In the summer of 2020 most Americans were horrified and shocked when they saw people in major cities burning American flags, attacking police and terrorizing citizens, but there were some in this country who seemed to not only condone this behavior but who encouraged it.  The media, politicians, celebrities, universities and corporations immediately began openly supporting Black Lives Matter despite the fact that this group was organizing the riots which were resulting in billions of dollars in damage, random acts of violence, and death in cities across America.  This immediate, unanimous, and full-throated support was supposedly based on the idea that America is racist and evil and therefore if you do not support BLM you are racist and evil.

If you say that BLM is a communist organization which aims to destroy America as we currently know it, many will say that you are wrong and you are racist, however BLM and their leadership have admitted that these accusations are true and even advocate for them on their official position statements available to the public.  But, to get bogged down on blaming BLM for the riots and the instability that their movement has caused in this country is to miss the forest for the trees.  It should surprise no one that there are radical groups of people who hate American and admire Karl Marx over Abraham Lincoln, but what should surprise you and scare the hell out of you is that the entire power structure in our nation now agrees with them.

This is not a race thing; it is a freedom and truth thing.  BLM was used by the left and others in this country as a means to an end.  The BLM protests were used to undermine President Trump and to turn out minority voters and sympathetic suburbanites, plain and simple.  When this strategy began to fail and Americans began to turn on the violent protests they just stopped.  Magically on one night a CNN anchor suggests that voters are no longer supporting the riots and within days the riots and the coverage of the riots instantly stopped.  It was as if they never even happened.  Why?  Because the people who were funding BLM, like George Soros and other billionaire sociopaths, realized that they had served their purpose.  If BLM was really about police brutality then why do they only seem to pop up in the months prior to elections and then just conveniently drift back into the ether until they’re needed again.

This brings me back to my point about the left’s infiltration of the most powerful institutions in this country.  If you have college students being taught by professors who hate this country, its traditions, and its values then you will get a professional class who hates this country, its traditions, and its values.  We are now seeing several decades’ worth of work paying off huge for the socialists and their anti-American agenda.

Even those who identify as conservative or right-leaning have been affected by the onslaught of the push by progressives to ensure that their message is the only message that can be heard.  Most Americans do not have the time to sift through article after article of news from across the spectrum to get a clear picture of what is going on in the world around them.  The majority of citizens who do not have the chance to read the news are limited to those sources given to you by Google, Facebook or Twitter.  At this point you have to dig pretty deep in a search to find any conservative or moderate journalism; instead you are given identical articles from the major media outlets that just simply parrot whatever the party line is that day.

This is not good for America, its people, or the world as a whole.  You could spend days, if not months, discussing the disservice that the press in this country has been to the people who rely upon them for information, but I will simply explore a couple glaring examples of their blatant hypocrisy and disdain for the truth.

President Trump was investigated for years by the DOJ, FBI, Congress and a special counsel.  His campaign was spied on, members of his campaign team were set up, arrested and dragged out of their house at gun-point for minor or made-up charges all stemming from the allegation that he was an agent of the Russian government.  What was the proof?  It was a “dossier” that originated from an actual Russian agent and was given to an opposition research firm hired by Hillary Clinton for the 2016 election.  There were ZERO facts in the dossier and the outlandish claims were disproven early on, yet the FBI and DOJ continued to use it as a pretext to get warrants and extend investigations which were clearly political in nature.

We later found at that the media and DOJ were working in tandem to make the allegations appear credible. At the end of this charade not only was there no evidence of collaboration with Russia, but it was discovered that the agents who had investigated the matter acted in bad faith and outside of the law.  To this date only one low-level FBI attorney has been charged with falsifying documents used in a FISA warrant application.  Robert Mueller’s team destroyed the data on over twenty phones after they all tried to login to their iphone too many times and were locked out.  Not many Americans believed that this was just a coincidence, but the media sold it to us and we just accepted it.

On the other side of the coin Joe Biden’s son received millions of dollars from Chinese firms directly controlled by the communist government in China, Russian oligarchs, corrupt Ukrainian energy companies and other nefarious individuals and governments.  The proof is not from a dossier or opposition research but was instead from Hunter Biden’s own emails.  This news should have completely changed the election when it broke in mid-October, but most Americans never heard about these payments to Hunter and Joe Biden until after the election.  Social media and the news media just refused to report or allow discussion about this matter claiming that the material had been hacked and they could not verify the emails.  Were the emails “hacked?”  No, Hunter left his laptop in a shop to be repaired and never returned to the shop so the owner had access to the computer.  Was it impossible or even hard to “verify” the emails?  No, Joe Biden’s campaign never even disputed that they were authentic, instead they recited the narrative that this was a distraction.  The media felt the same way apparently because Joe Biden was asked a total of zero questions about it between the time the story broke and the election.  That is partly due to the fact that Biden did not even bother leaving his basement for weeks at a time during the campaign.

I said all of that to say this; America is in decline and it is not because of the people or because of any factor that is outside of our control.  We are in big trouble right now because there is no trust between the majority of Americans and the institutions that once held us together.  After what we have witnessed in 2020 we do not trust the media, big tech, the government or anyone claiming to be an “expert.”  We were deceived about COVID-19 from the jump and continue to be deceived to the detriment of millions of Americans and the benefit of the most wealthy and powerful people in this nation and abroad.

For example, the United States Congress just borrowed trillions of dollars from our enemy, communist China, so we could give that money to other countries in the form of foreign aid.  Don’t worry, you get $600 to compensate you for your livelihood, liberty, and country.  Just in case you were not yet convinced that this is all orchestrated, that same congress just allocated billions of dollars to the IRS to perform twice as many audits on small businesses than in 2019.  Just so I am clear, your government shut down small businesses for almost a year, still will not let them open and is going to spend borrowed money from China to audit them more closely than usual.  The icing on the cake with the bill that was just passed by Congress is that they inserted language that prohibits the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq or Afghanistan just in case President Trump tried to bring them home.  Yes, your government hates you and now it does not even mind if you know this, because if you do not like it their friends in the media and big tech will simply silence you or ruin your life, or probably both.

2020 has been a horrible year, but when the history of our nation’s collapse is written it should reflect that it was not COVID-19 or a foreign nation that destroyed this country it was the ruling class and their irrational hatred for this country and those of us who inhabit it that was the ruin of what was once the greatest country in the world.  I hope I am wrong, but unfortunately once information is controlled and restricted by people with evil intentions nothing good will follow.  We have already had a presidential election stolen in front of our eyes and no one seems to be bothered by it.  Those in power applauded it because the ends justify the means.

Republicans had a chance to strip the protections from big tech to try and stop the censorship of information and political discourse in this country and they refused to address the issue.  Those same Republicans have sat on their hands as uncontroverted evidence of election fraud has been circulating around showing that something went really wrong on election night and the days after.  They will all admit it is a problem, then return to their respective chamber and do nothing about it when they have the chance.  These people are not leaders, they are cowards who are afraid that the media will call them “Trumpers.” Maybe they actually agree with censorship and rigged elections that occur in America.  Allowing the protections to remain ensures that big-tech’s grip on information will only get stronger and letting the election theft slide will inevitably result in making any future election for conservatives or Republicans nearly impossible.

The only chance that 2021 has of being any better than 2020 is if the good and decent men and women in this country quit acting like this is normal or that this is okay, regardless of what party you are in.  Stand up for truth and for your principles even when it is uncomfortable or inconvenient to do so.  If progressives and their billionaire donors are going to advocate with passion and conviction when they are espousing complete nonsense then conservatives and patriots can be even more passionate and steadfast in our convictions because they are based on the undeniable truth that our rights come from God, not from a gaudy building in DC or a palace in Silicon Valley.  As tough as fighting this evil may get in the days and months to come the alternative is even more grim.
