ORIGINAL STORY: As of early Monday morning, over 2,000 homes and businesses are without power in Fayette County following strong thunderstorms overnight.
According to Appalachian Power, 2,126 customers are without power in the county.
The bulk of the outages have been reported in the Oak Hill and Fayetteville areas.
The outages have resulted in two-hour delays for all schools in Oak Hill and Fayetteville.
Crews are still assessing the conditions and an estimated restoration time has not been announced at the time of writing.
