WESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Spring outdoor recreation season kicks off at Stonewall Resort this weekend with the opening of the Palmer Golf Course on Friday (March 31st) and the Marina on Saturday (April 1st).
“This is one of our favorite times of the year, as guests can begin to enjoy the wide range of outdoor activities and recreational opportunities available at Stonewall Resort,” said Andre’ D’Amour, resort general manager.
D’Amour said the golf course has added 65 new Club Car Golf Carts to its existing fleet and most feature onboard GPS units. Additionally, nearly a mile of the golf course cart paths are being repaved.
Mike Rogers, Director of Golf at Stonewall Resort, said, “The 2023 golf season marks the 21st anniversary of play on the Palmer Golf Course. The course remains one of the region’s top-rated golf courses, having recently been ranked by Golf Week Magazine at the 147th best resort course in the U.S. If rounds of play are any indicator, the course had the most rounds in its history in 2022.”
Rogers noted he has added new leadership on the maintenance team and expectations for enhanced course quality are high. Additionally, the course is offering programming for the non-golfer, to include property golf cart tours and the game of Fling Golf. The Pro Shop offers one of the best selections of women’s and men’s golf apparel in the region. For golf rates, course information, and additional programming, click here.
The Marina at Stonewall Resort includes a boat launch, pontoon rentals, gasoline sales, marina shop and a variety of boat slips available to overnight and day guests. Guests can explore the lake’s coves and fingers by renting a pontoon boat or one of the CraigCat personal watercraft.
