JEFFERSON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Police are currently searching for a stolen car in Kanawha County after it was taken from the victim’s residence while it was still running.
On Monday, May 22, 2023, Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputy K.B. Eskew, was dispatched to investigate a stolen vehicle complaint in the 3100 block of Kanawha Terrace in Jefferson.
The stolen vehicle is a red, 2013 Mini Cooper S, bearing West Virginia registration plate
“78H560”. According to the victim, the vehicle was stolen from outside a residence in the above neighborhood around 10:30 p.m.
The victim’s car has a push to start ignition and was reportedly running at the time it was stolen; however, the victim is still in possession of the key fob which should prevent the vehicle from easily being restarted once it is turned off.
A neighbor witnessed a heavy-set white female get into the vehicle and drive away. The victim reported the vehicle has a missing chrome bezel from around the front headlight which may help quickly identify it.
Deputies are requesting that if anyone sees this vehicle or has any information to please call 911 immediately. If any area residents have surveillance videos capturing the theft, please contact Deputy K.B. Eskew.
