MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities in Mingo County are reaching out to the public for information pertaining to the theft of six tires and wheels from a Caterpillar 777D rock truck in Twin Branch.
The situation came to light on Sunday, October 10th when the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement through their Facebook page encouraging those with information related to the incident, which is said to have occurred in the weeks between September 25th and October 9th, to come forward.
The truck model, which was designed for transporting heavy material on job sites, weighs over 70 tons, or 155,000 pounds. The tires used for these types of work vehicles are exponentially large, weighing over 2,000 pounds apiece with a rolling circumference of over 27 feet, and can run buyers thousands of dollars when purchased in new condition.
