PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Princeton couple is facing a number of charges in relation to the Financial Exploitation of an Elderly Person.
According to reports from Trooper Patton of the Princeton Police Department, a fraud complaint was submitted to the department at 1:00pm on January 10, 2022 regarding several checks written out to Mr. Timothy Wright for the payment of medical bills.
This came as a result of Wright advising the victim that his wife, Mandi Jo Wright, had been involved in an accident and had experienced recovery complications.
Along with the report, Trooper Patton was provided with 63 pages displaying the various payment checks made out to Wright for these purported expenses.
The checks in question spanned the period from 03/05/2020 to 05/10/2021, with the cumulative amount of the checks totaling to $21,410.44.
Over the following weeks, Patton made several attempts to contact Wright, as well as his legal representation, to varying degrees of success. Both parties repeatedly assured Patton that documentation was being gathered and that they would be willing to work with authorities.
Patton contacted Wright’s legal representation once more on 03/21/2022 for a status update on the situation, and was advised that he would be contacted soon to set up an interview.
As of 03/24/2022, no attempts at correspondence have been made by Wright or his legal representation.
