SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man is dead after an altercation occurred over a property dispute in Summers County.
According to Summers County Sheriff Justin Faris, at around 6 pm on Friday, a shots fired call was reported at the intersection of Route 3 and 12 and Eagle Branch Road.
Faris tells LOOTPRESS that the altercation started over a property dispute on the Greenbrier River. Benjamin Earheart shot Daniel Harmon, who was transported to the hospital by EMS, and later died from his injuries.
Earheart is charged with first-degree murder and is being held in Southern Regional Jail waiting for arraignment.
Summers County Sheriff’s Department is the lead investigating agency, WVSP, WVDNR, and Alderson Police Department responded and are assisting in the investigation.
