RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Town of Rainelle has been one of several to embrace the Christmas spirit this season by way of a town decorating contest.
First announced back in November and officially judged on Friday, December 16th, the contest was opened to both houses and businesses eager to spread some holiday cheer. Two candidates from each category were selected for first and second place, respectively.
The winners themselves were notified of the results by phone on Saturday, with the public announcement being made the following day.
The Rainelle business that nabbed first place was Bill Bell Appliance, with Valley Works coming in second.
Brian Critchley claimed first prize for the home rankings, while Cayli Bolen claimed second place.
The results follow those of the Rainelle Christmas Parade which took place on December 3rd and saw Route 60 from City National Bank to Rainelle Medical Center closed off to accommodate the proceedings, along with at side roads.
The parade winners, announced the day of the event, included Station 100 Quinwood Rescue Engine 103 which claimed first place in the fire apparatus category ahead of Station 50 Rupert Rescue Engine 50-02 which took home second place.
