BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh General Hospital confirms that they have received an initial allocation of COVID-19 vaccines and are in the process of distributing them in accordance with prioritization guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the federal government, and the state of West Virginia.
Vaccine administration will begin tomorrow for their frontline healthcare workers. Once the vaccine becomes more broadly available, they strongly encourage the community to get vaccinated. Raleigh General Hospital is pleased to be taking this next exciting step toward ending the pandemic and advancing our mission of Making Communities Healthier.
Pictured is Steve Morgan, RN, he was our first patient and one of our fantastic Nursing Supervisors. We began vaccinating at 7 this morning. Here is what Steve had to say, “We’ve dealt with this for a year, this is the first glimmer of hope, that there might be an end to it, so it’s something that’s offered to us as healthcare providers for free so I took advantage of that and the experience was good, easy and fast, and painless.”
