Ray Abraham Lambert, 81, of Corinne, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Ray was born on January 14, 1940 in Bud, WV to the late Roby Clinton Lambert Sr. and Mary Etta Lambert.
Ray graduated from Mullens High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U. S. Army the following year and served in Korea. After an honorable discharge, he followed in the footsteps of his older brothers and became a skilled welder. Ray was a proud member of Pipeliners Local Union 798 for the next 61 years. He worked on several major pipeline projects in the United States, including the Mohave Desert Project and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System. Ray ended his career as a widely respected and sought after welding inspector.
Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Marie Robbins Lambert; brothers, Roby C. Lambert Jr., George M. Lambert, Jerry T Lambert, and Cloyd h. Lambert; and a sister, Mary B. Lambert.
Left to cherish his memory, his son, Roby Lambert and his wife, Kelsey, and their daughter, Robin; a daughter, Mary Lambert Howard and her husband, Chris; a special niece, Teresa Hylton and her husband, Mack; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11 AM with Pastor Todd Weis officiating and military honors by American Legion Post 106. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
