BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Community Action Association (RCCAA) held its Sleigh the Day event over the weekend in support of local families.
The event, established to provide assistance to families struggling with core security issues during the holiday season such as food, utilities, and housing, took place on Friday, December 17, 2022.
In spite of a successful turnout Saturday, many of the 24 families comprising 60 children served by the RCCAA will still require resources throughout the holiday season, says RCCAA Executive Director Crystal Alonso.
“We have received three boxes of toys and a $200 donation so far. However, we still need assistance to ensure these families are not forgotten during the holidays,” she explains. “Children have made their wish lists, and those can be found on our website www.rccaa.org/sleigh-the-day/sleigh-the-day.”
Gifts along with items for everyday use are currently being accepted at the Central Office of the RCCAA located at 111 Willow Lane as well as the Emergency Housing Center at 103 S. Eisenhower Drive in Beckley. Items can be dropped off any time between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Financial donations can also be made and are accepted at www.rccaa.org/sleigh-the-day.
