MOUNDSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Marshall County Republican Delegate Charlie Reynolds was on hand this week to deliver a state check that completed the purchase of two scoreboards for East End Park in Moundsville.
City Manager Rick Healy and Moundsville Mayor David Wood accepted the check on behalf of the park.
Reynolds said he became aware of local fundraising efforts to cover the scoreboard costs. “When i.asked about it, they said they were $6,000 short. I told them.if they’d raise another $3,000, I’d try to get a match from the legislature. So that’s how we managed to fund them.”
The total project cost was $20,522. Reynolds said he plans to pursue other projects for his constituents.
“I live in Moundsville too,” Reynolds said. “I’m pretty excited to be in a position where I can help. I will continue to.help with other projects. All I had to do was ask and it was achieved.”
The delegate went on, “I have other projects going on in Marshall County.”
The Marshall delegate said he expects.some future funds to go to the town of Moundsville as well.
The Boys of Summer Club began and partially funded the.project. Additional private donations were received with the Even G. Roberts Charitable Trust providing $11,547.
