RIPLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A student at Ripley High School has been taken into custody by law enforcement after a firearm was discovered on school property inside the student’s vehicle.
According to reports from the Ripley Police Department, on Monday morning, April 17, 2023, the RPD and the Ripley High PRO were alerted by Ripley High School officials of a firearm inside the truck of a student parked on school property.
Responding to the scene, authorities determined that there was indeed a firearm inside the vehicle and the student was taken into custody by law enforcement.
Throughout the course of the investigation, authorities learned that the firearm had been left inside the truck by the student’s grandfather who is also the owner of the truck.
The case remains under investigation and charges are reportedly pending. The Ripley Police Department assures that there is not threat to the students and faculty at Ripley High School at this time.
