FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Robert Shirley Love has officially filed to run for the West Virginia State Senate as a Republican in the 10th District, launching a campaign centered on faith, freedom, and families.
Love, a local chiropractor, minister, high school football coach, community leader, and small-business owner, said his decision to run follows years of observing residents struggle with rising costs, taxation, and policies he believes favor special interests.
“I’m a coach, a healer, a business owner, and a neighbor,” Love said. “I see the challenges our families face every single day- at the clinic, on the football field, in the churches, and at the kitchen tables. I’m running to give our district a strong, principled voice that actually fights for the people and our future.”
According to his campaign, Love’s background includes healthcare, coaching, ministry, and small-business ownership. He said those experiences inform his views on taxes, regulation, education, public safety, and economic development.
“West Virginia doesn’t need more politicians,” Love continued. “We need leaders with backbone- leaders who will stand up to bureaucracy, defend personal freedom, protect property rights, support law enforcement, and create an environment where families and small businesses can thrive.”
Love said his campaign priorities include reducing taxes on families and small businesses, protecting property rights, defending parental rights and local control in education, supporting law enforcement and first responders, addressing rural healthcare costs, and developing long-term energy solutions.
He said the campaign will be grassroots-driven, relying on local volunteers and small donors.
“This campaign is about us: our towns, our families, our future,” Love said. “The 10th District deserves a senator who shows up, listens, and fights. I’m ready to do the work.”
Love lives in the district with his family and is active in local schools, churches, and community organizations. He is a founding member of the NRG Towns Initiative, a member of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the WVCDL, and an officer of Oak Hill Masonic Lodge #120 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons.
He is the grandson of Shirley Love, a former broadcaster and lawmaker who served in both the West Virginia Senate and House of Delegates.
The 10th District includes parts of Fayette County as well as Nicholas County, Greenbrier County, Monroe County, and Summers County.
