Roxie Wagner Lucas, age 62, of Beckley, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born on June 7, 1960 in Fairmont, WV, she was the daughter of Barbara Hostutler Wagner of Wana, WV, and the late Ralph Wagner.
Roxie, as she was known by family and friends, was reared in Wana, WV. She was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School in Blacksville, WV. Roxie was a member of Beckley Community Church, and was formerly a member at St. Mary’s United Methodist Church, where she was very active in the church. She was a volunteer for the 4-H Club, and worked in the Raleigh County School System for many years as a cook and lastly as a kindergarten aide. She also was a real estate agent. Roxie enjoyed baking, cooking and spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lucas.
Those survivors left to cherish her memory include her mother, Barbara Wagner of Wana; her devoted daughter Selena Lucas; two sisters, Eddis Miller of Waynesburg, PA, and Lillian Wagner of Wana. A niece Brittany Miller of Waynesburg, PA.
A service to Celebrate the Life of Roxie Lucas will be held at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 6 PM with Pastor Betsy Evans officiating. Friends may visit from 4 PM until 6 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
A visitation will be held also at the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church at Wana, WV on Monday, November 21, 2022 from noon until 1 PM, with a brief committal service following at the church. Burial will follow at the Mount Tabor Cemetery at Wana, WV.
