LOGAN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – It was announced Monday that the S-Con Gaming and Pop Culture Convention has been canceled for 2022.
First established in 2018, the annual event is held at the Logan Campus of Southern WV Community & Technical College, and features a variety of vendors and events related to gaming and pop culture.
The date for 2022’s convention was announced at the very beginning of the year, and the event was scheduled to be held on July 16, 2022 – LOOTPRESS coverage of the event announcement can be found here.
However, due to renovations currently taking place on the campus over the summer, this year’s S-Con is regrettably seeing cancellation.
“Unfortunately, we are being forced to cancel S-Con this year,” reads a statement released by the convention. “As you may know, our Logan campus is undergoing renovations for our new nursing program and new bookstore. We had hoped to be able to work around the renovations, but it’s now clear that this would be impossible.”
Although campus renovations will affect the convention, the “Rocky Horror Show” production which was scheduled to be held at the same time will go on as planned – LOOTPRESS coverage of the production can be found here.
“Southern Coalition for the Arts production of “The Rocky Horror Show” which was scheduled in conjunction with S-Con will still be held because it’s in a different part of the building,” the statement continues. “Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.”
