MT. HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Residents of Raleigh County braved the blistering winds on Saturday to catch a glimpse of St. Nick himself as he descended upon the Crossroads Mall parking area in style.
Chilly conditions notwithstanding, the annual event was complimented by clear blue skies which made for ideal circumstances during which to be transporting Father Christmas in the lead-up to the most wonderful time of the year.
Santa descended in style with the help of a Healthnet-CAMC helicopter which was added to the medical arsenal in August of 2020 with a dedication ceremony attended by Shelley Moore Capito.
The Bradley-Prosperity Volunteer Fire Department also lended their support by providing several emergency service vehicles and first responders to assist in the transport of both Mr. and Mrs. Claus from the landing area to the Crossroads Mall entrance.
But before heading inside the mall to handle business – Santa would get right to work greeting children and taking photos at the Santa’s Workshop area set up in the center area of the mall, while Mrs. Claus would do the same near the entrance – the vehicles took a lap around the landing area to greet the folks who had filled the parking area to get a peak at the celebrated couple.
But word has it that another well-known individual with an extensive history of Christmas shenanigans may be making his way to the Crossroads Mall on Saturday as well.
In fact, it is believed that The Grinch himself could be making his way to RestroReset Video Games and Collectibles Saturday at 4:00pm.
It is unclear whether Santa is aware of The Grinch’s potential arrival at the Crossroads Mall location, or whether the two will cross paths if that does in fact turn out to be the case. But if so one can only hope for a merry and civil encounter for all parties involved.
