CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Rock band Shinedown took the stage for the first time at Charleston’s Coliseum & Convention Center for a show for their ‘The Revolution’s Live’ tour in support of their upcoming album, Planet Zero.
The show, which featured openers The Pretty Reckless and DIAMANTÉ, was executed with no issues until the headliners took the stage.
It was at about 75 minutes into the main set of the show that someone reportedly crashed into a transformer, at which point the venue lost power for an extended period.
“We were having a fantastic show tonight,” guitarist Zach Myers said. “The crowd was one of the best crowds of the tour, we were playing really good, and someone hit a transformer out here and the power went out for like an hour.”
Myers spoke fondly of audience members in attendance, referring to the crowd as “probably top 3 of the tour.”
Despite the engagement of the audience, some crowd members began to grow restless during the extended waiting period, with many choosing to leave the venue altogether rather than wait for a resolution.
During the interim between main set performances, members of Shinedown took it upon themselves to give the people their money’s worth.
The band descended past the barricades, past security, and into the audience areas, where they signed autographs and took photos with crowd members.
After about an hour of technical issues, Shinedown were able to continue their performance. The band played seven additional songs before bringing the show to a conclusion far past its anticipated cut-off time. The show ultimately ran past midnight.
“HUGE thank you to the venue, our crew and the local police for letting us push curfew,” Myers continued in recalling the evening.
