Silas Moody Cameron 91, of Brenton passed away on Monday June 14, 2021 in Charleston WV.
Born April 28, 1930 in Hensley, he was the son of the late Seth and Mary Ritchmon Cameron.
Moody was veteran of the United States Army serving proudly during the Korean War, he was a tank commander with the 82nd Air Borne Division, and served in Germany for two years. When he returned home he spent 40 years as a coal miner working for and retiring from Red Jacket Mining, he spent the later part of his working carrier, as a very talented carpenter. Moody enjoyed building homes, and doing various woodworking projects, such as building Grandfather Clocks. He enjoyed fishing, camping and in his younger days hunting.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years Wanda Mills Cameron, his sister Dora Cameron Johnson, Seven brothers: Charlie, Woodrow, Wiley, Callas, Council, John, and Jacob Cameron.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sister Lavy Davis of Hanover, One very special niece, who was also his caretaker Wanda Yeager, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends. Military Honors will be given by Wyoming county Veterans Honor Guard.
