OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A group of students at Oak Hill High School walked out of classes Friday to protest actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
According to organizers, approximately 20 students participated in the walkout, which moved from the school to a demonstration along Main Street in Oak Hill.
Participants said the protest was intended to express opposition to ICE policies and to advocate for what they described as civil rights and justice.
Students carried homemade signs during the demonstration while remaining along the roadside for the duration of the protest.
The Oak Hill walkout mirrors similar student-led demonstrations reported in other parts of the country in recent weeks, where students have organized protests related to immigration enforcement and broader civil rights concerns.
