BECKLEY, WV- (LOOTPRESS) – The race for the Raleigh County Assessors’ office was won tonight by incumbent Linda Sumner, who was unopposed in the race. This will be Ms. Sumner’s second term as Raleigh County Assessor. Ms. Sumner’s history of public service to the State of West Virginia includes 12 years representing Raleigh County in House of Delegates prior to running for Raleigh County Assessor.
While serving as the Raleigh County Assessor, Ms. Sumner has also been active in community services and participates in many organizations including the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce and Raleigh County Historical Society.
Sumner was a long-time educator in Raleigh County, serving as a History teacher at Park Middle School prior to her full-time role at the Raleigh County Assessor’s office. Sumner will assume her 2nd term in January, and serve for four more years in that role.
