(LOOTPRESS) – Singer/Songwriter Taylor Swift revealed early Saturday morning that fans could expect a new release in the coming months, as Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is scheduled to hit shelves this summer.
The singer broke the news in midst of her ongoing Eras Tour through which previous album cycles and material have been revisited in shows around the country. Fans in attendance at a Friday show in Nashville were the first to learn of the new development.
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will follow Red (Taylor’s Version) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) as the third in a series of re-recorded albums featuring material originally recorded for Big Machine Records. The decision to re-record the material followed a widely publicized conflict involving the acquisition of Swift’s master recordings from early in her career.
Swift announced that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) will see release on July 7th, writing,
“It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it.”
It was also confirmed that six additional songs which have “sprung loose from the vault” will make an appearance on the album.
Originally released in 2010, Speak Now featured hits such as “Mine,” “Ours,” and “Mean.”
Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is now available for pre-order.
