TAZEWELL, VA (LOOTPRESS)– The Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission (CPPDC) accepted a check from Governor Ralph Northam to expand high speed internet.

CPPDC received $16,280,000 for the counties of Tazewell, Buchanan, Dickenson and Russell.
Funding was possible through the Virginia Telecommunications Initiative (VATI). About 1,300 miles of fiber will be constructed to deliver access to about 8,000 serviceable units that includes 82 businesses.
