Teddy Boyd Hendricks, age 84, of Upper Sandlick, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
Born on July 27, 1938, at Coopertown, WV, he was the son of the late Boyd Hendricks and Goldie Cooper Hendricks.
He was a retired coal miner of 40 years and had worked for Carbon Fuel Coal Company and Peabody Coal Company as an underground coal miner.
Teddy was an avid WVU football and basketball fan as well as a fan of Cincinnati Reds baseball. He was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jerry “Boo” Hendricks.
Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife Jeannie Hendricks of Upper Sandlick Road; stepchildren, Jonathan Brown of Quinwood, Jackie Garrison of Fairlea, Katie Hamrick of Ronceverte, and Donte Haynes of Fairlea; Three children, Eddie Hendricks of Uneeda, Dave Hendricks of Racine, and Denise Johnson of Coopertown; a sister Peggy Martin of Washington, PA; three granddaughters, Alyson Johnson and Taylor Hendricks, both of Charleston, and Breeanne Jarrell of Uneeda. Two great grandsons, Cade and Carter, as well as two nephews and one niece also survive.
At the request of Teddy, there will be no public services. There will be a small graveside memorial for close family members at a later date.
