ANSTED, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The eye-catching tourist attraction located right off U.S. Route 60 near Hawks Nest State Park has been baffling guests for decades.
At first glance, it may look like an old-fashioned tourist trap but this place genuinely has people scratching their heads and leaving with many questions.
The West Virginia attraction opened in 1973 by Donald Wilson features some gravity-defying wonders such as balls that roll uphill and water that flows upwards.
When Wilson passed away in 1996, the business closed but eventually reopened under new ownership and still shocks guests to this day.
The Mystery Hole also features a special gift shop that is open during tours.
After being blown away by the wonders inside, be sure to check out Hawks Nest State Park and take a jet boat ride on the New River.
