BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Thousands in West Virginia are currently without power this evening as winds increase and temperatures drop.
Rain will change to snow Thursday bringing with it wind gusts 40+ MPH, according to the National Weather Service.
Most of West Virginia is already seeing the gusty winds and as a result, thousands of customers are without power in the Mountain State.
Currently, 16,317 customers are without power in West Virginia.
Locally, Raleigh County is reporting nearly 500 outages while Wyoming County is reporting 158, McDowell 151, and Fayette County 72.
Outages could grow in number as the gusts continue.
