LOGAN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A routine parole compliance check turned into a rescue operation Tuesday when West Virginia State Troopers discovered two women and a three-year-old child allegedly being held against their will inside a Chapmanville-area home.
According to State Police, troopers were assisting parole officers on February 10, 2026, at a residence in the Chapmanville area when they were told the suspect, Tony Ritchie Jr., 38, was inside and refusing to cooperate.
Troopers obtained a search warrant and entered the home, taking Ritchie into custody without incident.
During the search, officers found two adult women and a three-year-old boy inside a bedroom. Investigators say Ritchie allegedly prevented them from leaving by blocking the doorway and restricting their movement.
Ritchie is now charged with three counts of unlawful restraint along with multiple parole violations. He is being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail.
