Heather Tully (R) has taken District 41 over opponent, Duane Bragg (D). Tully of Summersville was recently appointed to represent the West Virginia House of Delegates by Gov. Jim Justice. Tully filled the vacancy in June, following the resignation of Jordan Hill. District 41 covers parts of Nicholas and Greenbrier counties.
Tully began working as a nurse practitioner in 2018 and was an ICU bed nurse for 13 years. She was among the 2017 recipients of the Future of Nursing WV’s “40 Under 40” award. She is a member of the West Virginia Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
When appointed, Tully expressed that she planned to use her experience with the healthcare field to better the state’s health and well-being. She also wanted to focus on the education system.
Tully was unavailable for comment following the announcement of her victory.
