BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two people are facing charges after two children were found running around a parking lot unclothed.
According to Beckley Police, on November 6, 2021, a child neglect call was received about two small children running around the parking lot of Travel Lodge and Dairy Queen unclothed. When police arrived, they responded to a room at the Travel Lodge and found two adults and one of the children inside. The two adults, Patrick Plumley and Hannah Murphy stated that they were asleep and when they woke up, both children were gone, and the hotel door was open. Murphy advised that the children were not hers and that their mother had left during the night.
Neither Murphy nor Plumley could tell police when was the last time the children had eaten. Only one of the children was wearing a diaper.
Both suspects are charged with two counts of child neglect creating the risk of injury or death. They are both in Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
