BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – United Way of Southern West Virginia hosted its annual Dancing with the Stars event on Friday, which saw six teams competing to raise funds for community non-profit organizations.
United Way brought its Season 10 DWTS event to the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center with the help of sponsorship from various community entities.
The event opened with a special performance of Burlesque by the Legacy Dance Company, which effectively warmed up the audience for the show’s distinguished dancers.
Judging for the event was handled by Gabrielle Columbo, who returned for her sixth year of judging, Amanda Barber, and Matt and Amanda Barber.
Teams competing in this years event and their respective scores from the Dancing with the Stars judges are as follows:
Miranda Ullman and Jeremy Hall – 9, 10, 9
Amanda Stroupe and James Williams – 10, 10, 10
Mariah Harrison and Lewis Rhinehart – 10, 10, 10
Dr. John Fernald and Cindy Fernald – 9.5, 10, 10
Jessica Farrish and Clint Blunt – 9, 9, 8.5
Morgan Spolarich and Brent Osbourne – 10, 10, 10
The second place team for Judge’s Choice as presented by Tiffany and Noah Kapp was determined to be Morgan Spolarich and Brent Osbourne, who performed to medley of iconic artists throughout history including Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and Beyoncé.
The first place winners for Judges Choice as presented by Lisa and Jeff Walker were the team of Mariah Harrison and Lewis Rhinehart.
The runner-up team for People’s Choice was that of Amanda Stroupe and James Williams, while the first place winner was that of Morgan Spolarich and Brent Osbourne who raised a record amount of $82,575.
The Season 10 cast of United Way of Southern West Virginia raised a record breaking total of $257,369, surpassing the former record set by Season 8’s $208,355 in 2019.
