UPDATE: BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County Parks and Recreation, Lake Stephens’ power issues at the rec area have been fixed. The Beach, Splash Pad, Aqua Park, Ticket booth, and Bathrooms areas are back open.
The original estimate of reopening was Wednesday, August 11, 2021, but AEP and Lake Stephens staff have worked to correct the issue quicker than expected.
All Park facilities and areas are open and running on regular schedules.

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh County Parks and Recreation, Lake Stephens are experiencing some power issues at the rec area.
The Beach, Splash Pad, Aqua Park, Ticket booth, Bathrooms, and Concession areas will remain closed until the electrical problem can be resolved.
At this time, we are waiting on AEP to address the problem on that side of the service. The current estimate of reopening may be Wednesday August 11, 2021, but hopefully sooner.
Due to the nature of the issue, we ask that all visitors avoid the Recreation Area until further notice.
This problem does not affect any other locations at Lake Stephens. Areas that are still open include; Marina, Dam, Campground, Trails, Overlook, and Pavilion.
