BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A suspect who was wanted for shooting another man has been arrested.
According to Detective David Allard, Andrew Wayne Miller, was taken into custody by Beckley Police Department Detectives and Officers shortly after 10:00am this morning.
He was located hiding in a residence on Mulberry Street in Beckley; Miller was arrested without incident.

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is now wanted after he shot another person in the chest at the Hargrove Street Apartments in Beckley.
On Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 5:56 p.m., officers from the Beckley Police Department responded to a shooting that had just occurred inside an apartment at the Hargrove Street Apartments located on Hargrove Street.
Upon arrival, the officer located a twenty-six-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. Officers began performing life-saving measures on the victim until he was transported to a local hospital by Emergency Services Personnel. The victim remains in the hospital in stable condition.
Through an investigation conducted by the Beckley Police Department’s Detective Bureau, Andrew Wayne Miller, 31, of Charleston, West Virginia was identified as the person responsible for the shooting.
Warrants have been obtained for Malicious Wounding, Wanton Endangerment (3 counts), and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon.

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities have reported a shooting which took place Thursday evening at the Hargrove Street Apartments in the Hargrove St. area of Beckley.Â
According to a statement from Beckley Police Department Deputy Chief David S. Allard, one victim on the scene – described as a black male – was transported from the Hargrove Street Apartments area the evening of June 2, 2022.
This victim was taken from the location of the incident by EMS services, who provided medical attention en route to a nearby hospital for a single gunshot wound which had been sustained to the chest by the victim.
One suspect – also described as a black male – is reported to have fled the scene, and remains at-large. The status of the victim is unknown at this time.Â
As of 7:30pm Thursday, authorities remained at the scene of the crime.Â
Detectives are actively investigating the situation, and further details will be released as they become available.Â
