UPDATE: – (LOOTPRESS) – On Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at approximately 8:00 PM, Troopers from the Bridgeport Detachment along with officers from the Clarksburg Police Department responded to Olive Garden located in the Eastpointe Shopping Center.
Once on scene officers discovered the remains of an adult male subject in a wooded area between the parking lot and the northbound lanes of Interstate 79. An autopsy conducted by the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on 06/29/22 verified the remains to be that of John Bryce Westerhausen, 58, of Clarksburg. John Bryce Westerhausen was reported missing to the Bridgeport Detachment on June 23, 2022. No signs of foul play have been found.
The status of this investigation remains active and ongoing.

(LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia State Police is currently conducting a missing person investigation in which John Bryce Westerhausen, 58, of Clarksburg was reported missing to the West Virginia State Police Bridgeport Detachment on Thursday, June 23, 2022.
Mr. Westerhausen was last seen in the Clarksburg area on the evening of Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at approximately 7:30 PM driving a red, 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, quad cab pickup truck, possibly headed to the Grafton area.
Mr. Westerhausen is 5’ 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds with blue eyes, gray hair and a long, gray colored beard. Mr. Westerhausen has a cross tattoo on his left bicep and a barbed wire tattoo on his right bicep.
