Call of Duty announced on Twitter its roadmap for upcoming updates through Season One of Call of Duty: Cold War. The roadmap includes the newly released Sanatorium map for Dirty Bomb and Wakizashi melee weapon, and details future updates including a new zombies map, Firebase Z, League play, and new multiplayer modes among other additions.
To celebrate this announcement, 2X Weapon XP is live for Zombies, Multiplayer, and Call of Duty: Warzone through January 21, as well as the Zombies mode being FREE for all players until Thursday. New players can experience the full mode without limitations before the trial period is done, including the new Cranked mode.
Other additions teased are Warzone playlists, new Multiplayer modes including Dropkick and Snipers Only Moshpit, a new operator Zeyna, a map remake of Express from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and the much-anticipated League Play. These updates include dates for their release on the announcement post, all to be released throughout Season One.
Call of Duty has been criticized in the past by its fans for the developers not being as transparent on their updates, so first and foremost this a good step in the right direction. Players are excited to see more transparency from Treyarch, the studio developing Call of Duty: Cold War.
Players in the announcement thread and across Reddit are most excited for League Play and the Express map remake, its first remake since its release in Black Ops 2. The Sanatorium map looks great, but Dirty Bomb is really underplayed and not as captivating as the other game modes for Multiplayer; however, the map will be an amazing addition once it’s added to Warzone.
