PINEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man is facing felony charges following an arrest made for several sexual assualts which occured between the years of 1965 and 2001. An investigation by Sgt. Palmateer of West Virginia State Police has brought forth the following information.
One victim stated she had been assaulted by Teddy E. Tolliver in the Summer of 1998 following a church excursion. Tolliver, while driving the victim home, brought the vehicle to a stop on an unknown Wyoming County dirt road. Upon an attempt by the victim to exit the vehicle, she was grabbed by the arm and forced to remain inside. It was at this point that Tolliver forced himself upon the victim, who was fifteen years old at the time.
An investigation into a report of the incident by Sgt. Palmateer concluded that the attack was likely to have occurred as reported, upon which a warrant was issued for Tolliver’s arrest. It was at this point that six additional women came forward with reports of their own detailing sexual misconduct suffered at the hands of Tolliver over several decades.
Each of the victims were between the ages of eleven and fifteen when the incidents occurred. One of the victims, an eleven year old foster child, was visiting Tolliver’s Wyoming County residence with family in 2001 when she was taken out of sight on an ATV. It was at this point the victim was subjected to unwelcome and inappropriate contact from Tolliver.
This victim is also reported to have been assaulted by Tolliver on a separate occasion, which took place outside of West Virginia. This incident is being investigated by the appropriate authorities in the area.
Additionally, a third sexual assault claim has been levied against Tolliver detailing multiple instances of inappropriate contact for which probable cause was found. This is said to have occurred during the years of 1984 and 1985, at which time the victim was twelve years old.
Tolliver now faces three first degree charges of unlawful and felonious subjection to sexual contact without consent.
