UPDATE: I-470 westbound is operational once more following a a crash late Wednesday morning near the West Virginia/Ohio state line.
At approximately 3:00pm Wednesday, an update was issued from the Ohio Department of Transportation indicating that one lane had been reopened following the accident, and that traffic delays were still ongoing issue at the time
A subsequent update was issued at 5:30pm Tuesday which indicated the reopening of all lanes of I-470 westbound.
The Wheeling Police Department reported at the time of the update that the re-acclimation of traffic flow to the changes was causing backup on I-70 West at the Wheeling Tunnel to the Washington Avenue area.

BELMONT COUNTY, OH (LOOTPRESS) – Substantial congestion is currently ongoing on I-470 following a motor vehicle accident Monday afternoon.
Recent reports from the Wheeling WV Police Department, along with the Ohio Department of Transportation, indicate a closure to westbound traffic on I-470 about two miles west of the Ohio/West Virginia state line in the wake of a crash on Monday.
The disruption has already resulted in a buildup of traffic along I-470 for both motorists with intentions to travel westbound and those caught in the shuffle heading toward other destinations.
There has yet to be any indication provided regarding when a reopening can be expected for I-470 westbound.
