September 17, 2021 after a long illness.
Born on September 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Grover
and Betty Greer.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Harold Stover; sons, Mike and Steve Stover; grandson, Travis Stover;
brother Carl Greer; and sisters, Gladys Smithson Fearn and Marian Wriston Bell.
Frances was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and spending time with
her family. Over the years, she worked as a care giver and enjoyed reading,
word puzzles, crocheting, and collecting. She also loved animals.
For many years Frances attended the Crab Orchard Church of the
Brethren, Sprague Freewill Baptist Church, and more recently had been a member
of the Crab Orchard Gospel Tabernacle.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Stover of Beckley; a son Tony Stover
of China Grove, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Stover, Christopher Stover, Stephen
(Kim) Stover, Maigen (Shawn) Black, Rhonda Primm, Corinne (Glen) Rice, Lance
Rice and Gary (Drema) Rice; daughter-in-law, Anne Stover of Beckley; special
nieces and nephew, Debbie (the late Roger) Crouse of Coal City, Kitty (the late
Eddie) Fowler of Princeton, Birdie (Buck) Wickline of Grandview, Mary (Bill)
Jones of Lakeland, FL, and Randy (Gloria) Smithson of Shady Spring; and a host
of other family members, neighbors, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace
Chapel in Beckley on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 2 PM with Pastor Randy
Smithson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. A
visitation will be held on Thursday one hour prior to the services. Family
members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Due to the COVID 19, pandemic, the family has requested that those attending the visitation and service to please wear a mask and to observe social distancing.
