Cattle Markets across the US and locally are bullish for cattle on feed which is leading to higher prices on the board. On the National level steers where trading at $180.75 up $4.99 while heifers are up $3.74 to $158.57. Lean Hogs came in at $.74 and corn was trading at $5.40 per bushel.
Locally Narrows Livestock Market reported a strong run-on Saturday that included 808 feeders with 400-600lbs steers bringing an average of 150.00 while heifers averaged 120.00. The also reported 113 head of slaughter cattle with bulls averaging $83.00 while cows averaged $52.00.
Cattlemen’s Livestock Exchange of Caldwell WV reported a good run of 441 feeders with 450-500lbs steers averaging $154.99 while heifers averaged $125.60. First is the 3rd annual Country Roads Sale held at Jackson’s Mill, Weston WV on Saturday October 30th at 1:00pm featuring over 70 lots of angus, simmental, and commercial cattle. Next is the Mountain Classic hosted by Teets Cattle Company the sale will be held at Lost River, WV on Sunday October 31st at 1:00pm and will feature 36 show prospects and over 170 bred cows.
