BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Dance Company, the first and only professional touring dance company in the state, presenting public performances and educational programs throughout the region, is offering 12 class sessions to local seniors for free.
The Lifelong Learning Tap Dance Class is open to citizens aged 55 or older on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each class has a 10-to-15-person limit. Classes will begin on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Rhythms of Grace studio, located at 386 Ragland Road in Beckley.
These classes are able to be offered for free due to a grant from the WV Commission on the Arts through the WV Department of Arts, Culture & History and National Endowment for the Arts. Shoes will also be provided for each class.
At the conclusion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their newfound skills at a competition.
