WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Oglebay Festival of Lights is one of the most popular Christmas attractions in West Virginia, and is one of the top light displays in the United States.
The attraction that brings in over one million visitors each year boasts 300-hundred acres of lights over a 6-mile long drive. The light display features over 100 different lighting attractions equaling over one million LED lights.
The light display was powered up on November 10th and will run nightly from dusk to midnight until Sunday, January 8th. Enjoy reduced wait times when you visit Monday through Wednesday and beat the rush when you arrive early between 5-6 PM.
Admission to the Festival of Lights is a $30 donation per vehicle to ensure that the light display can continue in the future. Each $30 donor will receive a 2022 Festival of Lights Vehicle Pass valid throughout the holiday season and an Oglebay Rewards Book containing more than $500 in time-sensitive money-saving coupons.
Some of the features at the festival include the 70-foot tall Welcome Tree, Magical Mansion Light Show, Lighted Selfie Stations, Gardens of Light, Nativity Display, and a Winter Carnival.
To get to Oglebay Resort from I-70 W: Follow I-70 W to exit 2A Oglebay Park. Follow the signs for Oglebay Park and merge onto National Rd. Turn left at the light by Tim Hortons onto Bethany Pike/WV Route 88 N toward Oglebay. (2.5 mi) Arrive at Oglebay.
From I-70 E: Follow I-70 E to Wheeling. Take the Oglebay Park Exit 2A. Follow signs for Oglebay Park and turn right onto National Rd. Turn left at the light by Tim Hortons onto Bethany Pike/WV Route 88 N toward Oglebay. (2.5 mi) Arrive at Oglebay.
