WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia Parole Officer has been indicted by a grand jury on seven counts after allegedly having sex with two different women on parole.
According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court, Anthony Demetro served as a parole officer with the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Parkersburg, located in Wood County.
Count one found that on April 23, 2021, Demetro, while acting under the color of law, had sex with a 45-year-old female without her consent.
Counts two and three found that on April 16 and April 9, 2021, Demetro allegedly performed aggravated sexual abuse and attempted aggravated sexual abuse with the same victim.
Counts four and five states that on October 8, 2021, and July 8, 2021, Demetro allegedly sexually abused a 38-year-old female.
Count six alleges that on December 8, 2021, Demetro engaged in misleading conduct towards investigators to hinder, delay, and prevent communication with a law enforcement officer and judge. During an interview, Demetro falsely denied exposing himself to victim two inside her bedroom while he was acting in his official capacity as a parole officer. He also denied any sexual involvement with victim number two.
Count seven alleges that on July 20, 2022, he made false statements to the FBI by saying he didn’t make sexual comments to any parolee, didn’t expose himself, nor had sex with any of the victims, kissed them, or touched them.
Demetro is currently in South Central Regional Jail under no bond. Demetro will be arraigned on September 27, 2022, in Beckley. Judge Tinsely denied Demetro bond until after his court arraignment next week.
