BELINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man wanted in connection to a shooting in Barbour County that left one female injured has been arrested following a pursuit.
Matthew Logan Frame, age 36, was wanted in connection to a shooting that took place in Belington, WV, on the morning of March 6, 2023. The investigation was being led by the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release, the Mountain Region Special Response Team (MRSRT) had received information that Frame was staying with a female on Leading Creek Road in Randolph County. The MRSRT Team went mobile in an effort to apprehend Frame but as they were en route to the location, they received information that he, along with a female; had left the residence on Leading Creek in a gray VW Jetta.
The MRSRT Team continued in an effort to locate the gray Jetta, and it was spotted in the Junior area on Route 250 in Barbour County, WV. The VW Jetta quickly turned upon seeing the law enforcement vehicles and drove onto Railroad Avenue in Junior and came to an abrupt stop.
Members of the MRSRT Team, along with a WV State Parole Officer, ordered the driver to exit the vehicle. At that point, the driver sped away, and the pursuit of the vehicle began with officers trailing the Jetta with the lights and sirens activated. The pursuit traveled through Junior and into areas of Belington reaching speeds over 90 mph.
The pursuit came to a halt as the VW Jetta returned to Junior turning into the wash bay of a non-operative car wash. The VW Jetta struck an interior wall causing damage to both the Jetta and the wall but was stopped after it intentionally ran into a police cruiser from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Frame was placed under arrest for Wanton Endangerment and Attempted Murder. Other charges are pending following the pursuit as it remains under investigation.
