June 4 through June 13: The Cole Chevy Mountain Festival
For more than 30 years, the Cole Chevy Mountain Festival has provided carnival rides, a lumberjack contest, a petting zoo, traditional carnival food, vendor entertainment, music and summer fun.
The festival will be held from Friday, June 4, through Sunday, June 13, at Bluefield City Park.

June 6: Tamarack Courtyard Concerts
From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, the Tamarack Marketplace Courtyard Concert series will welcome The Untrained Professionals, an acoustic duo.
The event will offer free live music in Tamarack’s outdoor courtyard. Guests will be able to browse through the center’s retail space and Fine Art Gallery following the show.

June 7: The Monday Market
On Monday, June 7, the Gaines Estate will introduce The Monday Market, an event that will feature Fayetteville’s finest food trucks, produce vendors, artisans and more on the first Monday of the month. The market will be made complete with live music from local artists.
The market will be located in the Walnut Grove in the back yard of the Gaines Estate, a 1920’s era mansion located at 225 West Maple Ave in downtown Fayetteville.
The City of Fayetteville invites everyone to enjoy a Monday at the market. This is a recurring event.

June 11 and June 12: West Virginia Coalfields Cookoff
The city of Welch will be hosting the inaugural Coalfields Cookoff on Friday, June 11, and other public events on Saturday, June 12.
The event will feature BBQ competitions, live music and an ATV festival, allowing spectators to see what wild and wonderful West Virginia is all about. The Georgia Thunderbolts will perform Friday night, and Grammy-nominated Dale Ann Bradley will take the stage Saturday evening.
BBQ Cook Teams will compete for a $5,000 grand prize and the West Virginia State BBQ Championship title.
Attendees will have the opportunity to sink their teeth into some of the best BBQ vendors in the region, participate in taste testing competitions, ride their ATVs along the Hatfield-McCoy Trail, and browse the handmade works of local artisans.
Younger guests can enjoy age-appropriate activities in the Kids Korner, while those 21 and older can visit the Beer Garden.
Tickets to the event can be purchased in advance for $5 and at the gate for $10. Purchase tickets here.
The event will kick off at 9 a.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Saturday.

June 11: Fridays in the Park
Fridays in the Park has returned to Beckley, meaning live music and food trucks will decorate Word Park in Uptown Beckley from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 11.
The event’s organizers invite those far and wide to finish their workweek with lunch as they support the community, relax, and listen to local entertainment.
Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
June 12: Color the River 2021
Saturday, June 12, Second Saturdays will host the 4th annual Color the River for Cancer Awareness. The event, which is loved by the residents of Hinton, will allow participants to leisurely travel down the Greenbrier River in pretty much anything that floats.

June 12: Shawn Benfield at the Weathered Ground Brewery
Weathered Ground Brewery (WGB) in Ghent is excited to invite live entertainment back in the Taproom following the governor’s recent order.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, Shawn Benfield, a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from southern West Virginia. Benfield will be selling merchandise during and after the event. Find out more information on Benfield and his music here.
WGB has announced that they will still require individuals to wear masks at times when they are not seated at their table. They also ask that patrons remain six feet apart from those not in their party.
