WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – The National Weather Service has issued multiple Winter Weather Advisories for West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, warning residents to prepare for hazardous travel conditions beginning late Thursday evening and continuing into Friday.

A developing storm system moving from the central United States into the Ohio Valley is expected to bring accumulating snow overnight, with the heaviest totals west of the Interstate 81 corridor.
2 to 5 Inches Possible in Raleigh and Fayette Counties
In West Virginia, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday for Northwest and Southeast Raleigh and Northwest and Southeast Fayette counties, including the communities of Sophia, Beckley, Oak Hill, Fayetteville, Bradley, Prosperity, Meadow Bridge, and Montgomery.
Forecasters expect 2 to 4 inches of snow, with localized totals up to 5 inches in eastern portions of Raleigh and Fayette counties. Officials warn drivers to expect slick roads, especially during the Friday morning commute.
Additional Advisory Covers Southern WV, Southwest VA, Northeast KY, and Southeast Ohio
A broader Winter Weather Advisory also extends from 10 p.m. Thursday to 1 p.m. Friday for portions of:

Accumulations in these areas are forecast between 1 and 4 inches, creating similar travel hazards through midday Friday.
Southwest Virginia: Snow Expected Through Friday Afternoon
A separate advisory is in effect for midnight Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday across parts of southwest Virginia, mainly along and west of I-81. Snow totals are projected between 1 and 3 inches. Even light amounts may cause slippery conditions during the morning commute.
Greenbrier Valley and Highlands Could See 2–5 Inches
The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued another advisory from midnight Thursday to 7 p.m. Friday for:

Snowfall totals between 2 and 5 inches are expected, with impacts likely for both morning and evening commutes on Friday.

The National Weather Service advises residents across all affected areas to slow down and use caution, noting that even moderate snowfall can make roads slick and reduce visibility.
