NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Nicholas County woman faces numerous charges after abusing a child.
According to the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department, during the year 2020 and through April 27, 2021, Janet Cottrill struck a child in the face, head, and neck, causing marks. On one occasion, Cottrill tried to attack the child with some type of glass over the head, and the victim raised her arms to defend herself and was cut on her arm during the assault.
During the investigation, it was also revealed that Cottrill squeezed the victim’s neck so hard it caused her to pass out. During the last assault, while the victim was on the floor, Cottrill tried to push a dresser over on top of the child.
Cottrill is charged with domestic battery, two counts of child abuse, and domestic assault.
