PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a woman who is reported to have stolen her boyfriend’s vehicle.
According to reports from Deputy T.A. Lacy of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, on July 12, 2022, an on-station complaint was filed by Jason Hancock for a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was reported to have been stolen on July 8, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial in the Princeton area of Mercer County.
Hancock stated to officers that Crystal Dalton, who was Hancock’s girlfriend at the time of the incident, took him to work at Roselawn Memorial at 8:00am on July 8th, 2022.
He stated it had been arranged for Dalton to return with the vehicle, a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500, at approximately 4:30pm the same day but never returned.
Further, he stated that he located the vehicle at approximately 7:30pm that evening on Church Hollow Road in the Matoka area, and that Dalton was driving the truck at the time, would not stop, and attempted to run him over with it.
Hancock advised that the vehicle was parked off the side of Browning School Road.
On July 12, 2022, Deputy Sheriff Lacy patrolled the area from Browning Lambert Mountain Road to Browning School Road and back to Rock Road but was unable to locate the truck. At this point Mercer County E-911 put out a BOLO (be on the look out) for the vehicle.
As of July 16, 2022, the vehicle had not been returned for over a week and no arrangements had been made by Dalton to return the vehicle.
The truck is a 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 with black and chrome wheels, is black and silver on the bottom, and is reportedly worth approximately $4500.
The vehicle was placed into NCIC (national crime information center) and a warrant for Grand Larceny was requested for Crystal Dalton for the theft of the vehicle.
