BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Gradual but consistent progress appears to be underway in the continued community-wide effort to combat water issues which have been impacting Raleigh County for several days.
Crew members with Beckley Water Company can be observed stationed in several places throughout the greater Beckley area, including along Robert C Byrd Drive, where work is being conducted to restore service by those affected by recent outages of the essential utility.
While some customers have merely seen drops in water pressure in light of widespread leaks, many customers have been left without water altogether, while a fortunate few have been able to maintain service throughout the ordeal.
Organizers including several local fire departments, Raleigh County Emergency Services, Raleigh County Family Support Center, and Beckley Water Company itself have been active in organizing distribution events for those who remain without water as repairs are being made.
A recent update from the Beckley Water Company on Wednesday indicates that at least a portion of the persisting water issues are a result of service line leaks.
LOOTPRESS will continue to provide updates on the situation as information becomes available. Additional LOOTPRESS coverage for the Raleigh County area can be found here.
